Bali and Kitten Updates, Great Things to Share, A Village Frozen in Time and More...
Hey,
The lush green plants in the yard have grown wildly from the rain, the frogs have quieted down and we've discovered a 'so good that we're ordering it every day' roasted pumpkin, beetroot and haloumi salad from one of our favorite restaurants that delivers (it's called Mother).
Bali still isn't on full lockdown but we barely go outside as we don't trust the numbers the government provides. They claim a mere 100 cases on the island which simply can't be possible. As a result, we take only very quick trips to the ATM and supermarket when absolutely necessary.
The rest of the time is pretty much spent taking care of the kitten!
Kitten update
After another trip to the vet, apart from some ringworm on the paws which we're now treating, the three week old kitten we rescued is well on his way to recovery. He's gaining weight, eating plenty, sleeping through the night and starting to play around as well!
Sharing the Love
It's time to continue sharing all of the wonderful things that readers have sent me over the past week or so!
Here's this week's list:
Margreet Bos wrote an inspiring book about her life story. I Love to Live details how her life changed after surviving a grenade attack while traveling through Ethiopia.
Carole shared two of her favorite 4-star organizations that are doing good things in this world: The International Rescue Committee that works with refugees and IAPF which supports low-paid game wardens that dedicate their lives to protecting endangered species.
Lindsay, a durian expert, now offers Durian Sampler Boxes that are sent to your door straight from Borneo.
Anil filmed a short clip with my close friend and absolute favorite driver in India, the incredible Budhiman! He's been the driver for my tours for 10 years!
If you're ready to earn money online while stuck at home, Niall from eBizFacts offers some of the most detailed and trust-worthy advice that you'll find anywhere.
Plenty of more things to share next week!
A glimpse of Bali - the rice field behind our house.
Heartwarming Travels Jimmy Nelson has spent his life sharing the stories of isolated tribes around the world and his fantastic TedTalk about his journey to Northern Mongolia is worth a listen.
