A Life of Travel

Hello,

It's Tuesday and it's time for a travel newsletter!
update

I'm on way back to the US right now. After a quiet couple of weeks of forest walks and home-cooked food and drink in the Romanian countryside, it's time to move on. I now look forward to visiting family, enjoying a good Thanksgiving, some warm Florida weather and seeing Matcha (my rescue cat from Bali)!

Where are you this week? I'd love to know!

From a work perspective, over the past 1.5 years, I put in significant effort to create a 2022 Wandering Earl Tours lineup to remember. I've upgraded accommodations and added new activities and destinations on all itineraries. And now that two tours are already sold out, and travel continues to be possible, I'm even more excited to make these 2022 trips a reality!

So, if you want to join an epic trip next year, I'd love to show you the rewarding Wandering Earl Tours style!

Today's Travel Playlist
On my current flight, I'm listening to this Spotify playlist. While it might have been intended to accompany an acid trip (hence the name), it works quite well as a travel playlist too!!

all things travel

Creative Tourism Slogan
With an economic crisis and many hardships in Lebanon, the tourism board got creative. They recently announced a new "I love you in your madness" tourism campaign to attract visitors while focusing on the fact that the country is "crazy in many ways".

Wildlife Comedy
Here is the perfect collection of amusing wildlife photos from around the world, courtesy of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards.

Quirky in Japan
If Japan is on your list, these totally off-beat activities might be worth including on your trip. An isolated samurai village? Watching deer react to Beethoven? That's what I'm talking about.

From Nepal to Norway
I would never have guessed that Nepalese Sherpas are contracted to build Norway's impressive outdoor stairways that lead to spectacular viewing areas.

The Return of Indian Stepwells
For 1500 years, incredibly-designed stepwells were used throughout India to gather water, many of which you can visit. Eventually they were all abandoned. But now, in a time of real drought, they are being restored in order to use them again.

Cool Travel Charger
This week I discovered the Anker Nano II. It's a compact charger that quickly charges most phones, tablets and laptops. Travelers don't need to carry so many wires and chargers when you have this one charger. Great reviews too.

Most Popular Pastries
If there's an article that will make you want to travel the world only to eat delicious pastries, this mouth-watering article is it.

where in the world?
Bundi

Congratulations to Ruben, Barret, Adam, Kendall and Imman for correctly guessing the location of the photo above!

This is a photo of the Bundi Palace in Bundi, India.

If you haven't been to India, make sure it's on your list. When you do go to India, make sure Bundi is part of your trip. It's one of my favorite locations in the country as it's remarkably untouched by tourism despite its awesome palace and fort hovering above the colorful, laid-back and super-friendly town below.

And now...

Somewhere in the world

This week's photo

Where in the world is it?
