Hey, All I can say is, what a situation we're all in.
Here in Bali, people are finally starting to take it seriously and the initial denial seems to be fading. We're holding up at our little pad as best we can. We have our simple routine, which now actually involves... ...a 10 day old kitten! Crazy story. While going for a walk last Saturday along a quiet road, we heard some strange noises. We ended up finding two newborn kittens that were abandoned in the jungle. It wasn't pretty as they were covered in maggots and not doing well, but we jumped into action. We managed to get to a vet (social distancing all the way) and while one kitten unfortunately didn't survive that day, the other one did. And now we're doing our very best to get this tiny thing back to good health! She certainly puts a huge smile on our faces throughout the day, with a few moments of frustration as we try to figure out how to take care of a newborn kitten. But all is going well, its health is improving and the next checkup with the vet is in 5 days. We're hopeful she's going to pull through! Here she is... Sharing the Love Wow. When I asked everyone last week if they had anything they wanted to share to help us all get through this challenging period of time, I could not have anticipated the huge response!
So, in each of the next few newsletters I'll be sharing a few of the things you shared with me. The idea is to help spread the goodness, give us a break from the constant onslaught of Covid-19 news and perhaps allow us to sneak in an extra smile each day. Here's the first items to be shared: And Jerri and Yolanda both sent over this very relevant quote: “And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and grew gardens full of fresh food, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced.
Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.” ~Kitty O'Meara 1839 – 1888 Irish-French Author |
